In the wild, this spectacular species lives along the inner and outer portions of the reef in the Indo-Pacific at depths of 3 to 250 feet where shellfish and other invertebrates can be found.

It is a very active fish in the aquarium, constantly exploring and looking around.
One of the most colorful this is also one of the most aggressive fish for the home aquarium. They can be amiable for a many months, then suddenly turn and aggressive. Only one should be kept in the same tank. Keep only with large fish in a large tank with plenty of hiding places.

The ideal water conditions should be as follows: Temperature between 72 and 78° F with a pH of 8.1 to 8.4, sg 1.020-1.025 and dKH at 8 to 12.

It has strong jaws which can be used to crush and eat sea urchins, crustaceans and hard-shelled mollusks. Do not simply feed your Clown Triggerfish goldfish! They are carnivorous and should be fed a variety of foods to maintain a balanced diet: mussels, clams, shrimp, squid, octopus, frozen fish, krill, etc.
