Diet: Carnivore. Wild pajama cardinals feed on small crustaceans at night. They can be feed with crustacean flesh, bloodworms, mysid shrimp, frozen preparation, vitamin enriched flake foods. Feeding can be challenging at first and you may need to start with frozen or live fish food. Aqua cultured specimens should be a little easier to feed.

In the wild, the Banggai Cardinalfish lives in around Bangaii Islands in the Indonesian sea. It is an hardy fish, resistant to diseases which makes it an excellent choice for beginners. It is also a beautiful fish with its silver body covered with small white spots and vertical black stripes.
Ideal conditions for this fish are as follows: Temperature between 75 and 82° F with a pH of 8.1 to 8.4, sg 1.023-1.025 and dKH at 8 to 12. The will also require lots of hiding places. It is possible to keep a small school of Banggai Cardinalfish in larger aquarium but only one or a pair should be keep in smaller tank (30 gallon or less)
